For Individuals, Couples, and Groups.

LifeState Counselling Services is a private practice, providing a flexible and affordable generalist social work and counselling, support to individuals, couples, and groups from a Strengths Based, Person Centred, Solution Focused perspective.  All therapies are provided under an Outcome Informed Client Directed framework meaning the client calls the shots.

Counselling and Psychotherapy are professional activities aimed at assisting people to develop and understanding of their situation and self in a safe and supported environment so they can bring about change in their lives and return to normal functioning.

At LifeState Counselling Services, counselling is provided on an individual, couple, and group basis.  The first session usually takes a little longer as we explore and discuss your hopes for the future and any changes that you would like to see in your life. This session will also provide you with the opportunity to assess weather counselling will suit your needs.  Making the decision to seek assistance is an important and often difficult thing to do.  It is equally important that you feel comfortable and safe and respected throughout the whole of your experience counselling.  See the article on choosing a counsellor.

Utilising the interpersonal relationship, counselling enables people to develop self understanding and to make changes in their lives.  From the very first meeting we will begin to negotiate which approach may be most suitable to your needs. I see counselling as a dynamic relationship where the  client takes an active role within their abilities to direct the therapeutic course which is informed by the ongoing outcomes.   Further information about the Outcome Informed Client Directed approach can be found on the links page.
